High School Partnerships
Health care has become the largest source of jobs in the United States. Jobs in this field are varied and in high demand. From a doctor to a nurse to a health care administrator to a surgical technician, the options are plentiful. PA College has partnered with local high schools to offer summer camps for students interested in health care. These camps are offered on-site at our Lancaster campus and provide a one-week long immersive experience for students to learn more about the field of health care and the different opportunities and possibilities that they could consider for a career.

“I enjoyed learning different suture techniques because it was hands on and something I would do in the real world of health care.”
“I liked witnessing the human body parts and the demonstration that they showed and taught us. I believe that for those going into the medical field they should be predisposed to those kinds of things and they won’t find that experience anywhere else.”
“I liked being able to do hands-on activities because it taught us more about the lessons that we learned and it made the topics and lessons more fun.”

“I loved hearing from college nursing students at camp. It gave me a chance to ask specific questions about their clinical health care experiences.”
– IU13 Camper, Year 2021
“During camp, I got to see a real physical assessment from beginning to end. I liked the hands on activities in the camp and it was really fun to be able to hear my own lungs!”
– IU13 Camper, Year 2021
“Seeing the type of work that these people are going to be able to practice and eventually perform as a career really helped me understand better the duty of a nurse. It helped me conceptualize it and I was able to see myself doing the same.”
– IU13 Camper, Year 2019
“It gave me an idea about what is offered in this College and my options and opportunities for my future.”
– IU13 Camper, Year 2019
“The information and delivery was great. Your instructors that spoke to us also give us good teacher ‘vibes.’”
